SPUR - POLLY’S BREW CO

This wasn’t only my first experience of a TIPA but it was also Polly’s Brew Co first attempt at producing a triple IPA after creating some spectacular DIPA’s of late and this one didn’t disappoint. This beer looked extremely good with a thick opaque yellow body and a nice lasting white head. My preconceived idea of a TIPA was possibly an overly thick and overly flavoured beer but this was spot on in terms of both body and taste. The body was well constructed and substantial but not overly thick/sticky and it was complimented with a light but crisp carbonation. The 10% ABV was noticeable at the beginning but after the initial sip this was soon was masked by a plethora of stone fruit, passionfruit and orange flavours. The beer was tropical and dank with a pleasant citrus bitterness. The effect of the 10% ABV was a warming of the stomach rather than in terms of a burning harsh alcohol taste. The beer left a lovely lacing on the glass and as expected it was another beer from Polly’s Brew Co I thoroughly enjoyed. A tremendously smooth, easy drinking, juicy TIPA that warmed me up a treat.

A truly juicy edition.

Highly Recommended!
