NAIVE MELODY - POLLY’S BREW CO
I hold Polly’s Brew Co in such high regard and consider them to be one of the finest breweries operating in Wales today. Every beer I have had has provided an enjoyable drinking experience; obviously some beers have been more preferable to my taste than others but all have felt quality. I understand they are not to everyones taste on occasions their business model of producing so many different beers on such a regular basis gets criticised however I must have been lucky as every can I have received has been quality. In addition to this the vast array of beers they produce at such a high rate does keep me captivated by the brewery. Naive melody, on opening had lovely juicy mango and peach aromas. It smelled so good! Once poured into the glass the beer had a tremendous opaque yellow/orange body and a small short lived white head. From the first sip I was impressed with its substantial body which felt well constructed and it combined well with a moderate carbonation. This felt like a quality single hop Citra DIPA that delivered flavours ever so well. Taste wise the beer had a huge hit of fruity flavours bursting with mango, orange and peach which combined well with a citrus bitterness ending dry. This DIPA surpassed their ‘Full Moon’ which I really enjoyed and is up there with the very best I have had from Polly’s Brew Co of late. I definitely preferred this to their ‘Heavy Sunshine’ that also used kviek yeast. At 8.2% this was a DIPA whereby the Citra provided a fantastic array of juice and fruitiness, and masked the alcohol tremendously well only leaving its warming effect which was lovely.
Another classic edition in my book from a truly outstanding Welsh brewery.
Highly Recommended! A must!
