SAFETY FLARES - VERDANT BREWING CO

People rave about Verdant Brewing Co and yet again this beer shows why. On opening there were deep citrus aromas and the pint looked absolutely fantastic with a strong persistent white foamy head and a deep vibrant yellow/orange opaque body. It looked excellent in the glass. The beer had a light to medium carbonation that was perfect along with it’s medium body that gave the beer a well constructed feel and a lovely creamy texture in the mouth. A friend had this the same night as me and said it was one of the nicest beers he has ever had and I must agree it is up there with the very best. A tremendous balance of flavours with the initial hit of citrus (grapefruit) followed by grassy notes being complimented by a long lasting smooth pine bitterness that leaves you with a warm feeling inside. A triumph! ‘Safety Flares’ is a single hop Simcoe Pale Ale at 5.2% with the citrusy/earthy flavours of the Simcoe hops prevalent throughout from start to finish. A tasty beer indeed!

Needless to say I am a big fan!

Highly Recommended!
