IKAT - SALT
I read lots of positive reviews about this beer and picked one up from the local supermarket a couple of weeks ago during lockdown. As soon as I purchased it, there were reports being made on social media about a potential bad batch and the brewery acknowledged the problem. The can remained in my fridge untouched, however I remember feeling impressed that the SALT brewery acknowledged the problem identified by their customers, apologised and increased quality control as a result of the potential oxidisation. A great example of customer appreciation/service by a craft brewery. Last night, the football returned and I gave it a go. A DDH DIPA at 8% ABV, the beer had a sweet tropical grapefruit aroma and a thick hazy golden colouration with a white head. The beer was tremendously well bodied, and had a light carbonation. Taste wise, tropical flavours of mango, tangerine and grapefruit were prevalent combining with a pleasant subtle aftertaste. The beer was thick and sweet, ever so easy to drink and the 8% ABV was warming. I will be purchasing another to compare but I did enjoy this. If the next can is an improvement again, it will be an absolute belter. Another quality beer available at the supermarkets, plus I wouldn’t hesitate to sample more beer from SALT in the future.
Highly Recommended!
