HEAVY MOON - POLLY’S BREW CO

I have been looking forward to getting some beers from Polly’s Brew Co for ages having read some raving reviews online. I managed to pick up 3 cans from CWRW and this is the first to be reviewed. ‘Heavy Moon’ is a single hop ‘Mossaic’ DIPA at 8.2% ABV. On opening sweet stone fruits and mango were the obvious aromas and once poured into the glass the beer had a vibrant deep yellow opaque colouration and a persistent pure white head. Carbonation was moderate but felt extremely light in the mouth and the body was substantial and felt lovely and smooth. The beer was right up my street in terms of taste with a plethora of stone fruit flavours combined with mango and a subtle pine bitterness. I can certainly see why Polly’s Brew Co beers are so sought after, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and was easily the best beer of my weekend. A very easy drinking and refreshing DIPA packed with stone fruit flavours. I cannot wait to pick up some more!

The raving reviews and hype are certainly justified, a quality beer that was thoroughly enjoyed!
