HEATHEN - NORTHERN MONK

Up next, Heathen, an Indian Pale Ale at 7.2% from the Northern Monk Brewery. I have been impressed with a few of their brews of late and am keen to taste this stronger IPA. Fruity and zesty aromas were obvious on opening and the beer was a pale orange, vibrant looking beer with a strong long lasting white head that stuck to the glass. Carbonation was what I would describe as medium to high but gave the pint a refreshing feel. Taste wise the beer was full of prominent tropical mango and grapefruit flavours combined with an undertone of caramel which were complemented with a crisp bitterness. The pint itself was full of life, very moorish and it gradually warmed up my chest. A very good stronger pale ale that doesn’t taste it’s strength. Dangerously good!
