COSMIC LIQUID KISS - YEASTIE BOYS

This was my first experience of Yeastie Boys beer and on the whole this was a decent flavoursome brew. ‘Cosmic Liquid Kiss’ had a strong and sweet gooseberry aroma and it had a deep golden colouration in the glass. The beer wasn’t what you would describe as cloudy but rather hazy and good levels of carbonation visibly creating a strong persistent white head. As initially explained, this was a very flavoursome beer with pleasant notes of orange citrus combining with white grape, an underlying faintness of stone fruits and a short but sweet bitterness. Having used Nelson Sauvin hops a noteworthy characteristic of this beer is the taste of white grape and the residual taste/likeness of a white wine. I enjoyed this and the carbonation delivered the flavours well yet the body of the beer was rather thin. This beer was very enjoyable and with an ABV of 7% it definitely had an effect without any roughness. A very pleasant beer I did really enjoy. The flavour created by the Nelson Sauvin hops was nailed on but I do believe this beer could have been improved by a more substantial/complex body. I will definitely be trying more from Yastie Boys in the future.
